INJURIES

Lands with Jets Schweitzer signed with the Jets on Thursday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
Impact Schweitzer has appeared in 80 games in his career, seven of which came in 2022. He's played every position along the offensive line, the most recent of which were right guard and center as a member of the Commanders. As things currently stand, he's penciled in as the Jets' starting center.
MARCH 17, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Returning from IR Washington activated Schweitzer (concussion) from its injured reserve list Saturday ahead of Sunday's game at the Giants.
Impact After missing the Commanders' last nine games recovering from a concussion, it appears Schweitzer is finally on track to suit up again in Week 13 at the Giants. With Trai Turner (ankle) listed as out for Sunday, it would make decent sense for Schweitzer to start at right guard.

NOVEMBER 30, 2022 • NEWSOBSERVER.COM
Return window slated to open Schweitzer (concussion) was given a designation to return to practice Wednesday, opening the window for the center to return from injured reserve.
Impact Schweitzer has been sidelined since Week 4 due to a concussion, but the Commanders now have 21 days to add the 29-year-old back onto the roster. It's possible that Schweitzer could suit up and replace starter Tyler Larsen in Sunday's matchup against the Giants, given that he cleared the concussion protocol back on Nov. 21.
NOVEMBER 30, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Finally clears concussion protocol Schweitzer was cleared from concussion protocol Monday, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
Impact Team trainers will work to further evaluate Schweitzer in the coming days, but it appears he's nearing a return to action ahead of Sunday's game versus Atlanta. Once he's back, he could supplant Tyler Larsen as the Commanders' starting center.
NOVEMBER 21, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Set for extended absence Schweitzer (concussion) was placed on the reserve/injured list Saturday.
Impact Schweitzer suffered a concussion in Week 3 and had already been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys. However, he'll now be out for at least the next four games. Nick Martin will likely take over at center, as Chase Roullier is also sidelined (knee).
OCTOBER 2, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Commanders Injury Update: Wes Schweitzer OUT Problem at Cowboys? As the season moves forward, the Washington Commanders are showing some wear and tear, with a road trip to face the Dallas Cowboys coming.
OCTOBER 1, 2022 • CHARLOTTEOBSERVER.COM
Out for Week 4 Schweitzer (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against Dallas, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.
Impact Schweitzer didn't practice Wednesday due to concussion protocols, but it's unclear when he suffered the injury or how long he may be sidelined. Chase Roullier (knee), the team's top center, remains on injured reserve, so in Schweitzer's absence, Nick Martin is expected draw the start in the middle of Washington's offensive line.
SEPTEMBER 30, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
In concussion protocol Schweitzer (concussion) will not practice Wednesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Schweitzer will need to fully clear the league's concussion protocol before returning to action for Washington. The Commanders are relying on Schweitzer to start at center with Chase Roullier (knee) on IR, so the team could have to turn to Nick Martin versus the Cowboys on Sunday.
SEPTEMBER 28, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Full participant Wednesday Schweitzer (hamstring) was a full participant at practice Wednesday.
Impact Schweitzer left the season opener against Jacksonville due to a hamstring injury and was unable to practice all last week before ultimately being ruled out. Washington recently placed Chase Roullier (knee) on injured reserve, so Schweitzer will be a candidate to take over as the starting center if available for Week 3.
SEPTEMBER 21, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Out Week 2 Schweitzer (hamstring) is inactive Week 2 against Detroit.
Impact Schweitzer left the season opener against Jacksonville due to a hamstring injury and was unable to take the practice field during the week, setting the stage for his inactive status. Trai Turner (quad) is active despite several limited sessions this week, and he'll presumably operate as the starting right guard.
SEPTEMBER 18, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Questionable for Week 2 Schweitzer (hamstring) is questionable for Week 2 at Detroit.
Impact Schweitzer underwent an MRI scan Monday after leaving Washington's opener with a hamstring injury, but it appears he avoided anything too major. Whether he will suit up Sunday is still in the air though, and Trai Turner will likely be in line for the fill-in reps if Schweitzer can't play.
SEPTEMBER 16, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Dealing with hip issue Schweitzer has been absent from practice with a hip injury, Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post reports.
Impact Schweitzer is currently unavailable at practice while he nurses a hip injury, making it unlikely he's available for Saturday's matchup with the Chiefs. The severity of his injury has not been disclosed, but more information on his status will likely be provided as the preseason nears it's conclusion next week.
AUGUST 19, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Gets back on field Schweitzer (ankle) took part in Washington's recent offseason programs, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Impact Schweitzer missed the final six games of the 2021 season after suffering an ankle injury Week 12 against the Seahawks. However, he's back to full health heading into the 2022 campaign and spent time filling in at center during the Commanders' recent workouts while Chase Roullier (lower leg) wasn't available. Once Roullier is healthy enough to take the field, Schweitzer is expected to compete with Trai Turner for starting duties at right guard.
JUNE 29, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Out at least three games Schweitzer (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
Impact Schweitzer suffered the injury in Week 12 and was sidelined for the team's Week 13 matchup against the Raiders. He'll now be out for at least another three games. Brandon Scherff will retain starting duties at right guard, with Saahdiq Charles likely to serve as the primary backup.
DECEMBER 12, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Washington places Wes Schweitzer on Injured Reserve amid multiple roster moves. The team announced the following roster moves Saturday.
DECEMBER 11, 2021 • WASHINGTONFOOTBALL.COM
Out again Sunday Schweitzer (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Dallas, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Impact Schweitzer will be sidelined for the second consecutive contest due to the ankle injury. Saahdiq Charles should again serve as the reserve option at left guard behind starter Ereck Flowers.
DECEMBER 10, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Won't play in Week 13 Schweitzer (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Impact Schweitzer hurt his ankle in Monday's win over Seattle and won't be ready to retake the field six days later. If Ereck Flowers -- who is questionable with a foot injury -- can't go, Saahdiq Charles would likely get the start at left guard.
DECEMBER 3, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Injures ankle Monday Schweitzer injured his ankle during Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Impact Schweitzer was visibly limping as he left the field and eventually went to the locker room. He was Washington's third starter at center this season behind Chase Roullier (leg) and Tyler Larsen (knee). Keith Ismael stepped in for Schweitzer on Monday.
NOVEMBER 30, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Good to go against Broncos Schweitzer (neck) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game in Denver, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Schweitzer missed practice time during the week with a neck injury, but he's healthy enough to suit up. Starting right guard Brandon Scherff (knee) is questionable, and Schweitzer will likely get the start in his stead should Scherff sit.
OCTOBER 29, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Sidelined Wednesday Schweitzer (neck) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Rhiannon Walker of The Athletic reports.
Impact Schweitzer missed practice time earlier this season with an elbow injury, but he was still able to suit up on game day. The severity of the injury is unknown at this time, but he played 99 percent of the snaps in Week 7 against Green Bay. He'll try to return to practice Thursday and be ready for Sunday against Denver.
OCTOBER 27, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Gearing up Sunday Schweitzer (elbow) is active for Sunday's game versus the Rams.
Impact Schweitzer is good to go and expected to start at right guard. He'll have a tough assignment against All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald.
OCTOBER 11, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Questionable for Week 5 Schweitzer (elbow) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams.
Impact Schweitzer was sidelined at practice all week until returning with a full workload Friday. That suggests he is trending in the right direction at this point. However, if he is ultimately unable to go, Keith Ismael will be the prime candidate to replace him at right guard.
